History of the Club

This was led by Henk and Margaret Stoffers and the earliest committee consisted of Don Mason, Ken Fleay, Ted and Wally Anderson, Mark and Margaret Pritchard, Doreen Dow and Trevor and Therese Smith.

The club is a family orientated running and walking club striving to enhance the wellbeing of the community by providing access to inclusive running and walking activities. The club has assisted hundreds of members achieve their running goals, particular Half and Full Marathons.

The club originally held time trial events 5/10km  every Thursday evening at various locations around Bunbury including the Maidens Reserve, Hay Park and Catholic College Oval.

In 1992 the club moved to the current location at the Recreation Ground, initially an old soccer building (demolished)  and then the current Eastman Pavilion. The club has hosted over 40 Marathon and Half Marathon events and is one of the few clubs in Australia which has continuously hosted these distance running events.

Whilst we have many leading distance runners in the club, any person seeking the camaraderie of like minded runners will benefit from being part of this friendly welcoming club.
